Spotty Gingerbread Man
April 18th, 2013When I went to pick Little Bee up from nursery on Monday, I had a look in her tray as she was still busy painting and found this drawing. She came over to me and told me that the drawing is for my birthday (which is at the end of the month) and that it is a gingerbread man.
She drew spots on the gingerbread man as I am still spotty from chickenpox.
Errm… Thanks?

I love watching Little Bee sleep. She looks so peaceful… so unlike when she’s awake… and I join with her afternoon hibernation as I need to rejuvenate myself.
Thinking of adding colours to my drawing… we’ll see…
IF: Boundaries (Second Entry)
September 11th, 2011I was waiting for Little Bee to fall asleep and was wondering if we might need to take her to our bed again tonight. She had a really high temperature last night and I’d rather her be with me when she’s ill.
Then I thought about all three of us on the bed and how Hubby must wish that there is a bit more space. Don’t get me wrong, the bed is big enough if we keep to our space but, for a little person, Little Bee tends to take up half of the bed!
Then I started thinking about sibblings squabbling… and if you have to share your room with your sibbling, don’t you wish you could actually build a wall in between when they start to annoy you? Wonder if that idea ever crossed my older brother’s mind.

IF: Imperfect (Egg)
August 5th, 2011This morning I asked Little Bee (was known as Bubba Bee) to draw an egg and this was what she drew. It’s not perfect but it’s a perfect egg for a 23 month old toddler to draw.

IF: Perennial
July 22nd, 2011Why do I associate certain words with certain things? Like this week’s topic. When I saw ‘perennial’ the first things that went through my head is plant after plant. So, I decided to look up the meaning of the word and I quite like – “lasting an indefinitely long time”… that’s what I hope love is.

July 2011
I was too late for last week’s entry to Illustration Friday ‘Remedy’ as I couldn’t figure out how to set up the scanner. D’OH! But I think my sketch of a very small Bubba Bee (she must have been less than 6 months then) fits this weeks title too… as with pictures/drawings/sketches… you capture a moment and it stays as it is… and sometimes when I look at Bubba Bee, I just want her to stay ‘small’ as long as possible.
